Kato Drys
Overview
The village of Kato Drys is located southwest of the city of Larnaca and is bordered by Pano Lefkara, Kato Lefkara and Vavla. The village was named Kato Dries because of the many oak trees that were there. In Kato Drys, one can enjoy the beautiful architecture with the neoclassical houses of the 20th century and the huge Plane Tree planted in 1907. The village hosts the Museum of Folk Art, which presents the history, culture, customs and traditions of the area. The large church of the village, dedicated to Agios Charalambos, is another noteworthy destination. The village offers a traditional experience, with its narrow cobbled streets, traditional houses and the friendly atmosphere of the inhabitants. The local cafes, museum, and traditional taverns also offer opportunities to explore the local culture and gastronomy.
